Fun “Feed Me” Activities

Are your students more responsive to learning activities that are played like games? Have you tried any interactive “feed me” activities?
I have created several activities using this Feed Me model. In Feed the Ocean Animals Synonyms, kids feed a whale, shark, octopus, sea turtle, jellyfish, manta ray synonyms on krill, fish, snail, shrimp, seaweed, etc. The food disappears into their mouths. Who doesn’t like to feed sharks?
For younger children, try a Feed the Farm Animals Rhyming Words deck.
Kids feed a horse, cow, goat, pig, chicken rhyming words on a piece of hay, grass, corn, apple, etc. Recognizing rhyming words is a key component of phonological and phonemic awareness, supporting reading foundational skills.

These games are created for BOOM Cards, digital interactive task cards. They give immediate feedback and a chance to try again if the answer is wrong. Not familiar with BOOM Cards? Read more about it:

I also have a couple of library related Feed Me decks. In this one, kids feed the book worm a check mark or X, depending on whether the image show good book care or not.

Or this one, where they feed the book drop books based on whether they are fiction or nonfiction. You could put a face around the physical book drop in your library, just for fun. Or, set up two boxes with mouths for real life sorting.

See how it works:
So, skip the class pet and have fun digitally feeding some friends!
