Thanksgiving Dinner Game
Do you ask kids to help out with dinner? Get the cutlery, set the table, place the napkins? Put the bowl of peas on the table? Or is that too much of a risk of peas rolling all over the floor?
Why not try a digital Thanksgiving dinner activity? I have a BOOM Card deck, Build a Thanksgiving Dinner that asks kids to place food items on the table. Kids can practice helping with dinner. It reinforces following directions too.
Build a (Digital) Thanksgiving Dinner
It starts with an empty table. Each slide asks the kids to put the turkey on the table, then the stuffing, carrots, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, sweet potatoes, green beans, etc. BOOM Cards are self-correcting, as they give students feedback on whether their action was correct or not.
If you are not familiar with BOOM Cards (online digital task cards), read this blog post:
Getting Started with BOOM Cards
The second part of the BOOM Card deck shows a place setting and asks the kids to put the same food items on an empty plate. This is a great matching activity. Can be used for activities for daily living practice, or following directions.
So, for a no mess dinner, try a digital table-setting activity! It doesn’t have to be used just for Thanksgiving. Try it year round!
