Are you ready to say, “Goodbye” to winter and break out the spring sweaters? Do your students love to sort things? Sorting items into categories is an underlying Math skill. It can also support speech and language development.
Sorting for Spring
My kinders & firsties love to do sorting activities on the Smart Board. At the time of year when we are finally getting some nice weather, it might be fun to try sorting some spring objects. In this game, there are two flower pots on the Smart Board. The kids drag the items (such as flowers, butterflies, baseballs, umbrellas, pinwheels, clouds, frogs) into the correct flower pot. If they are right, the item disappears into the flower pot. A gentle “ping” reinforces the answer. Incorrect items bounce out.
Banish winter blues! Celebrate spring with some sorting fun!
